Greysia Polii: If We Are Not Honest, BWF Will Not Know We Receive NHS E-Mail Pages all

KOMPAS.com – Indonesian women’s badminton athletes, Greysia Polii, revealed facts related to the chronology of the Indonesian team being forced to resign from All England 2021.

This fact concerns e-mail British health authorities (NHS) who informed the Indonesian team was on a plane with a person who tested positive for Covid-19 during a flight from Istanbul to Birmingham, England, on Saturday (13/3/2021).

There were 20 of the 24 members of the Indonesian team who received this e-mail from the UK NHS.

As with the health protocol in the UK, the Indonesian contingent had to isolate themselves for 10 days.

It was on this basis that eight Indonesian representatives were forced to resign by the organizers of the All England and BWF as the person in charge.

This then became a polemic in itself because there were various controversies behind the forced withdrawal of the Indonesian team from All England.

The hottest chaos was related to the women’s singles from Turkey’s representatives who were previously allowed to play even though they could e-mail from the NHS.

Then there was also the polemic of repeated PCR tests by contingents of India, Thailand and Denmark who got negative results the day after being positive for Covid-19.

Greysia also said that if the Indonesian team did not report, BWF would not have noticed that they would receive e-mails from the NHS.

“Apart from everything, I am very proud of the response of the Indonesian team from the officials to the athletes,” said Greysia.

“Why? When we received the NHS email, we received it personally. BWF and the organizing committee didn’t know.”

“However, our response to the e-mail was to report it to BWF.”

“That means we are responsible for what happens there. We comply with the rules there.”
