On the night of Wednesday a fire in a yard near Ausernzell in the Deggendorf district destroyed the stables and a machine hall, people and animals were harmed.
With the extinguishing the work for the emergency services was not over. From the morning on it was time to clean up, fire brigades and acquaintances helped. Around 60 to 70 cows had to be moved to surrounding farms with dairy stables, where it is ensured that they are also milked.

The shock and damage to the farming family will be deep. They lost at least 15 of their cattle in the night, the stables and machine hall including equipment – apart from two tractors that the owner could drive outdoors – burned down and are only ruins. The flames had also spread to a residential building, but caused little damage there. According to the mayor, both houses are still habitable. The police estimated the damage to property at around two million euros.
