Twenty-four-year-old Siniaková entered the match with the player from the fourth hundred of the rankings better and quickly led 3: 0. Konjuhová, who starts a wild card in Miami, but managed to equalize just as quickly and won the tiebreak 7: 3. Siniaková, who ranks 70th in the WTA rankings, started the second set better and led 5: 2, but then lost five games in a row.
During her sixth start in the main competition in Miami, Siniak failed for the fifth time in the opening round. She advanced to the second only in the last year played in 2019.

Twenty-nine-year-old Plíšková did not manage the introductory round of the main competition even during her fifth start of the season. Right after the first match, she said goodbye this year in Melbourne, at the Australian Open, in Doha and Dubai. Today, the 78th WTA player started the first match with Boulter hopefully and after a nervous start she won the first set. In the next two sets, however, the five-year-younger opponent did not lose the serve and after the fourth match match celebrated the promotion.
