During the press conference, however, it turned out that no relaxation is possible for the catering industry. The flowers can go back inside, because the terraces remain closed.

Len van der Meij, owner of café Goos is disappointed, but already saw it coming. Two weeks ago, he enthusiastically set his tables outside, but he has to tidy them up again: “We are now putting it aside for a few weeks, but the enthusiasm remains,” said Len.

Milène Hoving and Laura Deelen, owners of Cafè restaurant Amsterdam, are also disappointed after seeing the press conference: “I had expected it somewhere, but it was really a disappointment. You are living somewhere like this,” says Laura. Nevertheless, the catering entrepreneurs keep their spirits up: “It can’t take very long”.
