Beijing does not fear Western sanctions

Beijing commented on the sanctions imposed by Western countries for violating the rights of Uighurs in Xinjiang.

TASS.

“Yesterday we saw how Western countries took joint action [против Китая]… This is true, but if you ask if Beijing was concerned, I assure you, not in the least. So, the population of the USA, Great Britain, Canada, as well as the European Union is about 11% of the number of people living on our planet, and the inhabitants of China are one fifth. Therefore, the Western countries with their statements are not able to represent the position and views of the entire international community, “she said.

According to Hua Chunying, the West “has neither the right nor the competence” to act as the “mouthpiece of international democracy.”

“They defend the interests of a small group of countries, while the number of supporters of the PRC is constantly increasing. All Western democracy is hegemonic hypocrisy,” the diplomat added.

In response to EU sanctions China will impose restrictive measures against 10 people and four legal entities.
