Beyond writing to family and friends or making video calls, there are many other functions that WhatsApp offers us that you may not know about. Next, we detail them all so that you get the most out of the green sandwich application.
Last connection
If you want to protect your privacy and you don’t want others to see the last date and time you connected to WhatsApp, you can block it.
The only problem is that if you hide that information, you will not be able to see the last connection of the rest of the people.
With this option you prevent someone from being upset if you do not reply to a message that they may have sent you before your last connection and, therefore, they may think that you have not read it, either because you have not had time, or because you did not have desired.
How to do it? It’s very simple, just activate or deactivate the ‘Last time’ function. To do this, you must enter ‘settings’ and then ‘account’. Once there, you must select ‘privacy’.
If we activate this option, we will ensure that none of our contacts control the time we connect to WhatsApp.
Listen to the recordings before sending them
There are people who prefer to send audios to waste less time writing.
If we write, we can review what we want to express and correct it, however, if we send audios, unless you know how to listen to the recordings before sending them, it is likely that you send them without reviewing and they may not be well understood. Therefore, we are going to teach you the trick to listen to your recordings before sending them.
To do this, the first thing we will have to do is enter the chat of the person or group to whom we want to send the audio. Next, we will record the audio by pressing the microphone. Once you have finished your recording, instead of hitting send, you must slide your finger up to set the recording and exit the chat.
In this way, the audio is saved in the writing bar and when you enter that chat again it will be there and we can listen to it. From now on, it is up to you if you want to send or delete it.
Time-limited messages
If you want to send a message to a friend, but you fear that it may show it to someone at some point, you can opt for self-destructive messages.
These are messages that are automatically deleted after a certain time.
The way to do it is very simple. We will have to touch the name of the contact and, in the menu of their profile, we will see the Temporary Messages. When you enter and activate them, all the messages that we have sent you will be deleted. When you want to end this function, you will simply have to enter and deactivate it.
Who writes to me?
If you are relaxed watching a movie or working and your mobile does not stop ringing or vibrating with hundreds of WhatsApps that make you look at the phone without stopping in case they are important or they belong to someone you expect to write to you, there is a trick to that, without looking at the phone, we know who is writing to us and decide whether to attend to that message or not.
It consists of customizing the notifications and giving each contact or group a different tone.
To do this, we must enter the chat, click on the name of the contact or group and select ‘Customize notifications’.
