“As President of the BWF, I want to let you know that we have taken this incident as a very serious valuable lesson at a time when the world is being hit by Covid-19, “said the section in the BWF request letter.

“We will try hard to make improvements,” continued BWF.

In addition, BWF also hopes that the good relations that have been established with Indonesia can continue and be maintained, even stronger.

“Going forward, we believe that the extraordinary relationship that has been built for a very long time between Indonesia and BWF will remain harmonious, even stronger in the future,” said BWF.

Previously, in All England 2021, the Indonesian team was forced to withdraw from the championship after 20 of the 24 team members received an electronic mail or e-mail from the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).

Through the letter, the NHS informed that the Indonesian team was on a plane with a person who tested positive for Covid-19 during a flight from Istanbul to Birmingham.

Therefore, the Indonesian team was advised to undergo a 10-day quarantine.

This is in accordance with British Government regulations which require a person to quarantine for 10 days if they are on a plane with a passenger who is positive for Covid-19.

This decision has become a bitter reality for the Indonesian team which automatically cannot continue the struggle in All England 2021.

Until finally, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon et al returned to Indonesia and arrived in Indonesia on Monday (22/3/2021) last night.
