Lung Specialist Doctor at the Central General Hospital (RSUP) Fatmawati Dr. Silmi Kaffah, Sp, P said although there are also differences in the incubation period and several other symptoms.
He explained that tuberculosis begins with the appearance of coughing symptoms for more than 14 days.
Usually, the cough experienced by those who contract this disease contains phlegm or mucus.

In fact, in some cases, there is a cough with phlegm accompanied by blood.
“To differentiate, we see if the tuberculosis cough for more than 14 days, generally with phlegm, can be accompanied by or without blood,” said Dr. Silmi, in a live talkshow on Instagram @radiok Health, Monday (22/3/2021).
The next symptoms experienced are shortness of breath, then weight loss and appetite as well as sweating at night.
“Then shortness of breath, chest pain, decreased body weight, decreased appetite, night sweats,” explained Dr. Silmi.
Then the results of the chest X-ray of the tuberculosis sufferers also showed signs of white spots on the upper lung organs.
