Berlin
Dental crowns, bridges or implants: if those with statutory health insurance do not want to be satisfied with the health insurance standard, they have to pay. Unless you are insured: The best supplementary dental insurances in the test by Stiftung Warentest cover all costs that the statutory health insurance fund does not pay, even for very expensive dental prosthesis solutions.
?? Rates
The financial testers scrutinized 244 tariffs: more than a third received the quality rating very good, 13 of them the top grade 0.5. The 43-year-old model customers pay 33 to 46 euros per month for these top tariffs in the first year of the contract, the premiums rise over the years to 56 to 88 euros. If that is too much for you, you will also find what you are looking for in the test: for example, with the cheapest, very good EZ + EZT tariff from HanseMerkur, which costs 27 euros per month when you are 43 years old. Permanently favorable offers for 43-year-old new customers with the grade Good (2.0) are already available for a monthly fee of 15 euros without an age-related increase (EZ50 from Debeka).
?? Change
Even those who have had additional dental insurance for a number of years should read what is insured and to what extent. Because a lot has changed in the terms of the contract, especially when it comes to implants. Offers that do very well today offer significantly higher benefits than tariffs that were at the top ten or more years ago. If you want to be fully insured here, you can consider switching. Likewise customers for whom the contributions have become too expensive. In both cases, you should first check the offers from your own insurer.
?? Entry into the contract
It is better to take out insurance in their mid-30s if you have a tendency to grind your teeth or have gum problems or who already have a number of teeth with fillings, advises Finanztest. In a new contract, insured persons have to wait three to seven years before they have full access to the insurance benefits. Annual upper limits apply beforehand. Such a graduation is typical, for example: 1000 euros in the first 12 months from the conclusion of the contract, 2000 euros in the first 24 months, 3000 euros in the first 36 months and 4000 euros in the first 48 months. Full benefits are only available from the fifth year – unless dentures are necessary due to an accident.
?? Cash standard
No insurance is required for standard care. If you still want to take out one to make sure that the money you need is available, you can take a simple policy for a few euros a month.
