The scandal is already very serious, especially with the news that two Russian diplomats are being expelled. This means that the diplomats received information from the detainees. This was said in the program “Since the day” on BNT by Todor Tagarev, former Minister of Defense in the caretaker government of Marin Raykov, on the occasion of the detention of former and current military in our country – part of a criminal group for espionage in favor of Russia.
This is a huge scandal, this is an absolute shock for us. The shock comes from the fact that Bulgarian officers are ready to sell the interests of their country and the union of which we are a member for a fee. The fact that the diplomats received the information means that they were interested in this group, Tagarev said.
The fact is related to a crime against the republic. Apparently, the prosecution has enough evidence to go public. I expect this evidence to be proven in court and these people to bear the consequences, he stressed.
These are people with very wide access who have had access to intelligence, which is the most sensitive information. Very serious measures must be taken. Any neglect of this case will play a very bad joke in the future, said Todor Tagarev.
