According to statistics, the greatest interest is in electric scooters. According to CDV, their advantage is affordability, low operating costs and zero emissions. The most represented brand among battery motorcycles is Hecht with a share of 19 percent. Akumoto follows with a 10 percent share and the Torrot brand with eight percent.

In the case of electric motorcycles, traditional brands are not yet significantly represented, for example, 26 sales are registered at BMW, Piaggio has 14 and only four at the Harley-Davidson brand.
–
“Personally, I expect that there will continue to be interest in electric motorcycles, but we are still waiting for the traditional brands, such as Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Suzuki and the like. Once these brands enter this segment, significant progress can be expected. So far, they are either not in the register at all, or only in units of pieces, ”pointed out Lukáš Kadula from CDV.

The CDV also drew attention to the development of interest in electric motorcycles in the previous decade. After the initial growth in the registration of these machines in the Czech Republic, there was a turnaround in 2012, and in the following years the interest in electric motorcycles decreased to 84 registered machines in 2015.
–
“At that time, some companies moved from motorcycles to e-bikes,” said CDV director Jindřich Frič. From 2016, however, interest began to grow sharply.
–
In recent years, there has also been a growing interest in electric cars. The number of registered passenger cars in the Czech Republic increased by almost 90 percent last year to 7,103 cars. Together with plug-in hybrids, there were almost 10,000 cars with external charging in the country. The number of all passenger cars on Czech roads increased to 6.13 million last year.
