Bhayangkara Solo FC won in the inaugural match of Group B Menpora Cup 2021. Challenging Borneo FC, The Guardian narrowly won 1-0.

In a match at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, Monday (22/3/2021), Bhayangkara FC played some of its new players. Evan Dimas and Hansamu Yama immediately became starters.

Bhayangkara FC took the lead in the second minute. Andik Vermansah’s action from inside the penalty box can be pushed over, the ball rebounds Alsan Sanda headed into the goal.

Andik Vermansah threatened again in the 15th minute. His shot from inside the penalty box was pushed over by Pesut Etam goalkeeper Gianluca Pandeynuwu.

Borneo FC threatened in the 25th minute. Terens Puhiri’s cross was greeted by Amer Bekic, the Bosnia Herzegovina player’s header soaring due to a distraction from The Guardian goalkeeper, Awan Setho.

The intensity of the match began to increase. Borneo FC midfielder Sihran Amrullah got a chance in the penalty box in the 67th minute, but his shot was blocked by Awan Setho.

Borneo got another good opportunity through Terens’ header in the 80th minute. Awan Setho was once again successful in saving the net from being broken.

Di injury time, Borneo FC had to play with 10 people after Hendro Siswanto received a second yellow card for violating Evan Dimas. Until the end of the match, the score 1-0 for Bhayangkara FC did not change.

This result brings Bhayangkara FC topped Group B standings with 3 points. Meanwhile, Borneo FC is in the caretaker position with no points.
