Mainfranken: Then come the Corona self-tests on …

The Bavarian state government had already promised free self-tests for pupils and teachers to schools in the Free State at the beginning of March. In Main Franconia, however, they are only now gradually arriving in schools. This is shown by a survey by our editorial team among the district offices in the region.

At the Würzburg district office, deliveries of self-rapid tests for schools and daycare centers from Munich have arrived this week. So far, a total of 4,000 tests have been distributed to facilities where at least one person had a positive corona result. The tests are currently available to the staff. Self-tests will then be distributed nationwide to schools and daycare centers from Monday. Then the schools could plan the voluntary tests for students and start them after the Easter break, according to the plan of the district office.

The Main-Spessart District Office received the announced antigen self-tests from the government earlier this week. These are now made available to the pupils of the final classes and the school and daycare staff. A total of 26,000 such lay tests will be used for the time being. This should bridge the time until the Easter holidays. After the Easter break, all students should then receive the self-tests. At the beginning of March, the Main-Spessart district independently provided the schools and daycare centers with around 25,500 rapid tests. This enabled teachers and daycare staff to test themselves.

Only the district of Kitzingen is still waiting for the self-tests for schoolchildren. Nothing has been received by the district office yet. However, Kitzingen had already received around 34,500 self-tests for teachers and daycare staff at the beginning of March and distributed them in full to the facilities. The county had received the tests at the time because the incidence was over 50.
