Using the QR code on the packaging, you can immerse yourself in the world of Segafredo Storia, learn everything about the product and its history: exact origin and variety, plantation and harvest time, transport, roasting and packaging. You can also find out more about social projects in the country of origin and which sustainability initiatives are taking place locally, after all, Segafredo Storia products are organic and RFA-certified. Thanks to the “Farmer Connect” platform supported by IBM Blockchain, which can be called up via the QR code on the pack, insights into all areas are possible that have contributed to the coffee lover’s ultimately getting the product finds on the shelf or can be enjoyed in the cup.

Segafredo Storia is a premium coffee made from 100 percent Arabica beans that are harvested at an altitude of 1,400 to 1,600 meters. The mix contains varieties such as Catuai, Typica and Lempira, which are typically Italian – that is, dark – roasted. In terms of taste, connoisseurs can look forward to a coffee with fruity notes and pleasant acidity.
Segafredo Storia works with 51 coffee farmers from the Lempira and Intibuca area in Honduras. Segafredo Zanetti’s good connections to Honduras have existed for many years. Numerous local initiatives are supported and ensure more sustainability and quality on site, fair remuneration as well as better quality of life and schooling.
