On the occasion of World Water Day, celebrated on March 22, the pharmaceutical company Takeda announces this Sunday the inauguration of an unprecedented installation in the pharmaceutical sector: the first installation that will allow the recycling of wastewater on its site from Lessines. Takeda will therefore become the first pharmaceutical site in Belgium to reuse 600,000m³ of water per year, ie the annual consumption of 18,000 Belgians.
This project was made possible thanks to the partnership between Takeda and the Belgian company Ekopak. The technology used allows Takeda to treat and reuse rainwater and wastewater on a large scale, starting in 2021. This initiative is part of Takeda’s ambition to protect the planet and be a zero emissions company. net for all of its activities by 2040.
