Thank you very much that the voivode asked the directors and presidents of our city hospitals to delegate employees to our city hospital – said the deputy mayor of the capital, Renata Kaznowska, ironically in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24, commenting on the statements and recommendations of the Mazovian voivode, Konstanty Radziwiłł. Talking about the availability of medical personnel in the capital, she emphasized that “the shortages are enormous”.

Mazovia province governor Konstanty Radziwiłł, speaking on Saturday’s “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 about the availability of covid beds in Mazovia, he said that he appealed to the directors of Warsaw hospitals to share the staff with the Southern Hospital. – Remember that in Warsaw these are large hospitals and the donation of five doctors and 10 nurses – this is the formula we proposed – it seems that it would not significantly disturb the functioning of these hospitals – he argued. The voivode handed over such an instruction to the institutions at the beginning of March.

The words of the voivode Radziwiłł, as well as the availability of covid beds and medical staff in Mazovia, were referred to in Sunday’s “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 by the vice-president of Warsaw, Renata Kaznowska. – I am in constant contact with the voivode – she assured. As she said when they last spoke during the meeting attended by the directors of all temporary hospitals in Mazovia, “the meeting was about one topic: the lack of staff.”

“The shortages are huge”
Kaznowska, commenting on the recommendations of the voivode Konstanty Radziwiłł that the directors of municipal hospitals should indicate at least five doctors and ten nurses, whom he could delegate to work in the Southern Hospital, said: – Thank you very much that the voivode turned to the directors and presidents of our municipal hospitals to delegate employees to our municipal hospital.
–
– Mr. voivode, we did it. In this way, we acquired four nurses and one doctor – she added.
–
– The shortages are huge. I might have thought that the voivode did not know about it, if not for the fact that I told him about it on Friday morning. And the directors and presidents of hospitals answered him very simply, in a very obvious and very illustrative way: if we donate five doctors and ten nurses, as the governor wishes, we will have to close the wards in our hospitals. Because it is about responsibility for patients, for their health, for their lives – explained the vice-president of Warsaw.

Kaznowska: The Southern Hospital is ready to admit over a hundred patients and over 20 ventilator patients
As Kaznowska recalled, “The Southern Hospital was built by the capital city of Warsaw for the amount of almost PLN 400 million”. – On the final straight, the voivode, with an amount of slightly more than PLN 20 million, supported the preparation of this hospital and acceleration of construction works so that it would become a temporary hospital – Kaznowska said.
–
It said the hospital was ready for use on February 15, and is now ready to receive more than a hundred patients and more than 20 ventilator patients.
–
“Doctors are not employees of the president”
She stressed that the mayor of the city, Rafał Trzaskowski, cannot independently delegate medical workers to other hospitals. “Doctors are not the president’s employees,” she pointed out.
–
She added that the voivode could delegate them. “He has instruments for this, he can give orders and work orders,” said Kaznowska.
