Police and protesters clash in Bristol | Abroad

The Guardian reported that graffiti was being sprayed on a police car and that this vehicle was being shaken by protesters. Officers said they were being verbally abused and pelted with fireworks and other items.

According to the BBC, many protesters wear masks and carry banners with texts such as ‘say no to the British police state’ and ‘freedom to demonstrate is fundamental to a democracy’.

It is not known whether the police detained demonstrators.
