The short film Don’t Peek is about a young woman who plays Animal Crossing at the same time as shady things happen. The short film was released in the autumn and received some attention then.
Now this short film will be a feature film when the Russian director Timur Bekmambetov (The Guardian of the Night, Wanted) decided to produce it.
In the feature film, however, there will be no Animal Crossing gaming because Nintendo did not allow it. Instead, the gameplay in the film will be of a slightly more nostalgic nature. Whether that means they use an existing game or whether they use something Hollywood-generic remains to be seen.
