The package was found at the station earlier in the afternoon. Investigation by the Explosives Clearance Service Defense (EOD) shows that the package found does not contain any dangerous substance, the police reports.

A police spokesperson reports that a traveler in the station had the ‘suspicious’ object with him. “Fortunately, that has turned out to be harmless,” said the spokesman. As a precaution, the eastern part of the station was evacuated around 3 p.m. All train traffic and other public transport around the station were shut down.
Public transport is now being restarted in steps. For example, the Amsterdam transport company GVB reports that the ferry ferries will be sailing to and from the station again and that the trams, buses and metros will also start running again. Travelers do have to take delays into account, according to the GVB. The Dutch Railways expects that the trains to and from Amsterdam Central will run normally around 7 p.m.
