Djokovic, 33, originally planned to play in Miami to play ahead of the Monte Carlo Masters.
“I decided to take advantage of this precious time and stay with my family. With all these limitations, it is important that I find a balance between time spent on tour and at home,” the six-time winner of the tournament wrote on Twitter.
