NIAMEY, March 19 (ANP) – The Government of Niger decided, this Friday, March 19, 2021, to create a public interest group called the Académie des Sciences du Niger (ASNI).
ASNI is a consultation structure, a consultation body for the public authorities, bringing together highly qualified scientific personalities, for the effective participation in the development of knowledge, its updating and its dissemination, explains the Government in a press release. a copy of which has reached the ANP.
According to this document, the creation of the Academy of Sciences follows a recommendation of the 3rd meeting of Ministers responsible for science and technology of ECOWAS member states held in Cotonou in December 2018.
The Academy of Sciences will promote, in particular, the mobilization of knowledge in the service of the progress of science and technological innovation, the promotion of the culture of scientific excellence and, in general, the contribution to the improvement of conditions. of life of our populations, specifies the press release.
