Response to the Termination of Diplomatic Relations, Malaysia Asks North Korean Diplomats to Leave Kuala Lumpur

PUTRA JAYA – Government Malaysia respond harshly to the decision North Korea (Korut) to cut diplomatic relations with them. Malaysia said, in response to this, they would “expel” North Korean diplomatic presence in Malaysia.

North Korea cut diplomatic ties with Malaysia after a high court in Malaysia ruled that a North Korean man could be extradited to the United States (US) to face money laundering charges.

The Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that it has the right to respond to North Korea’s decision to protect sovereignty and to protect national interests.Also read: North Korea Call Joe Biden Approach Cheap Tricks

Malaysia believes that their stance on this unfavorable development will be fully appreciated and understood by friends and partners who are committed to the principles of justice, rule of law and peaceful coexistence among nations.

“The Malaysian government is now encouraged by North Korea’s decision to close the Malaysian Embassy in Pyongyang which has been suspended since 2017,” he said in a press release received by Sindonews on Friday (19/3/2021).
