11 Years Established, SHKJ NICU Facility Has Treated 1,900 Patients

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) facilities are available at Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk (SHKJ) since 2010 and has treated more than 1,900 patients from within and outside the city. The NICU is an intensive care unit for newborns who require special care such as premature baby, babies with low birth weight, babies with congenital abnormalities, babies with respiratory problems, and others.

The head of the NICU and the coordinator of the SHKJ lactation clinic, Dr. dr Naomi Esthernita F Dewanto SpA (K), said that the various cases handled by the NICU SHKJ included babies with respiratory problems, heart defects, and other congenital disorders such as birth without anus. In addition, the team involved in NICU care has also handled complex cases, namely the condition of premature babies who are LBW (Very Low Birth Weight) accompanied by disorders, namely hyaline membrane disease, congenital heart defects, severe infections, twisted intestines, chronic lung disease, and hernias. .

“The Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk NICU team specifically invites parents, especially those with risky pregnancies, such as pregnancies with congenital abnormalities in the fetus, stunted fetal growth, mothers with hypertension, and the like not to give up and fight together,” he said.

Meanwhile, SHKJ obstetrics and gynecology specialist, Dr. Stephen V Mandang SpOG, said parents should routinely have their pregnancy checked (antenatal care) in integrated health facilities. Routine checkups during pregnancy or antenatal care for pregnant women it is important to monitor the health of the mother and fetus.
