Disaster alarm at Mosjøen hospital after fire in prison – NRK

At around 15.30, the police reported that there had been a fire inside a cell in Mosjøen prison.

A little later, a disaster alarm was sounded at the hospital in Mosjøen, but this has now been canceled.

Helgeland Hospital reports that two people were sent to hospital, one of whom is critically injured. The other is printed.

Kenneth Magnussen at the police operations center in Nordland tells NRK that all the inmates have been evacuated to a safe place.

He also states that an inmate appeared to be seriously injured. Helgeland Hospital confirms this and says the condition is critical.

– There are some prison guards who are checked because they have inhaled smoke. We have started an investigation to find out what happened, says Magnussen.

He says that the other inmates will be checked by health.

The catastrophe alarm that was set off has been canceled, but first a message was sent out to all the employees at Helgeland Hospital.

– In connection with the fire in Mosjøen prison, the disaster alarm at the hospital has been triggered. We are working intensely to get an overview, but so far the situation is clear, says communications manager Mette Horsberg at Helgeland Hospital to Helgelendingen.

All available personnel have been asked to attend the hospital, the newspaper writes.
