Despite the difficult health situation worldwide, East African state carrier Air Tanzania plans to launch its service to Guangzhou in southern China tomorrow, 20 March 2021. It was originally scheduled to begin last September. The weekly outbound B787-8 flight will operate on Saturdays, with the return flight the following day.
Since taking delivery of its first of three Dreamliners on order, Air Tanzania has been flying from its Dar es Salaam hub to the Indian metropolis of Mumbai.
Guangzhou is already a destination for several African carriers – Air Madagascar, Egyptair, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways and Rwandair – and is high on the list of preferred long-haul destinations for the young Uganda Airlines. (ah)
