Football matches will continue to be held behind closed doors and the Formula 1 Grand Prix will also not have an audience. The news was posted on the Expresso website and covers its printed edition, today on newsstands.
Questioned by the weekly, the Government guaranteed that, until the end of the deflationary period (mid-May), «the mentioned events will not have an audience». It is recalled that the F1 GP is scheduled for May 2, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão (after hosting the MotoGP race, on April 18), and those responsible for professional football had the hope of conditioned reopening to supporters from May 3, when “large outdoor events and indoor events with reduced capacity” are allowed, as set out in the deconfination plan presented by the Prime Minister, António Costa, on the 11th.
The Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Rebelo, revealed, in an interview published yesterday in A BOLA, that he was optimistic about the return of the public to the championship games, although noting that he would still meet with the Ministry of Health and Direction -General Health.
In light of the above, everything points to the great championship decisions being played with empty benches.
