Timlo.net—Sites and services like Facebook and Twitter would love to spend all their time on their platforms. The longer you spend on their platform, the more ads can be shown. This means more money for the platform. Unfortunately if a user shares a YouTube video on Twitter, other people who want to watch it must leave the platform.
That’s what Twitter is trying to solve. They announced that they were testing YouTube integration with their site. So tweet containing YouTube videos will be able to play inside tweet. Similar to when a user uploads a live video on Twitter.
Ubergizmo reported that on Thursday (18/3), when a user shares a YouTube video on Twitter, other users will be taken to a separate site if they want to watch it. Obviously this isn’t ideal if Twitter is to keep people on their platform.
The company revealed that testing of the integration feature starts in the iOS application. But there is a possibility that a similar trial will be carried out on Android in the near future. Twitter has not revealed when the test will be conducted on Android.
