As part of the 30th day, Olympique de Marseille will travel to OGC Nice this Saturday. Present at a press conference this Thursday, Jorge Sampaoli confided in the meeting and the forces involved. The Argentine coach will have to do without Boubacar Kamara who has received three yellow cards in less than 10 Ligue 1 games (against Nice, Lyon and Rennes). Jordan Amavi and Valentin Rongier are still absent and have been for several weeks.
“Rongier and Amavi are still injured”
“Kamara, it will be difficult to replace him (against Nice). His consistency, the confidence he has in this position. In the squad, we don’t really have a player who has Kamara’s profile to replace him. We do not know if we put a player to replace Kamara or two scavengers in the middle. Kamara is suspended, Rongier and Amavi are still injured. Otherwise everyone is available! “Source: Press conference
Valentin Ronger has not played since the meeting against FC Nantes on February 20. For Jordan Amavi, it’s even older since his last match was against Rennes on December 16 where he had only played 20 minutes before getting injured again. Both players seem to be struggling to recover and their absence is starting to be felt in the squad. If there are players to replace Amavi and Rongier, it’s more complicated for Kamara who is so good at his position that his replacement will inevitably have less impact.
