Mexico exceeds 196 thousand COVID deaths; almost 5 million vaccines go

Mexico adds 698 deaths from COVID, for which 196 thousand 606 deaths from the disease have been confirmed. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Ministry of Health estimates that 2 million 376 thousand 875 people have been infected.

In Press conference, the Ministry of Health indicated that there are 36 thousand 273 active cases (2%) and one million 724 thousand 794 people have recovered.

At the national level, the occupancy of general beds stands at 23%, with 24,604 available and 7,474 occupied.

The authorities report that six entities are located with between 30 and 49% occupancy and 26 states have less than 30%.

Regarding beds with a fan, Health indicated that the occupation is 27% nationwide, with 8,159 available and 2,979 occupied.

There are nine states with between 30 and 49% occupancy and in 23 entities it is less than 30%.

This Thursday, 158 thousand 29 vaccines against COVID were applied, adding up to 4 million 947 thousand 552 doses applied since last December.

835 thousand 732 vaccines have been applied to health personnel, of which 592 thousand 522 are second doses.

In the case of educational personnel, 17 thousand 463 vaccines have been applied, of which 17 thousand 429 are second doses.

It was also reported that 3 million 447 thousand 555 vaccines have been applied to older adults, 36 thousand 851 of them are second doses.

Health has registered 12,117 events supposedly attributable to vaccination, of which 91 were classified as serious. Fourteen people remain hospitalized.

There were 11,551 cases reported by the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, 412 by AstraZeneca, 91 by Sputnik V and 63 by SinoVac.
