Reinis points out that after getting to know Riga Dome and its “Walcker” organ in October last year, Latvian student composers, inspired by Riga Dome and their composition teachers, have created diverse and stylistically different compositions that will be performed in a two-part concert program. “Since the 1990s, two-part concerts have not taken place in the Riga Dome Cathedral,” adds a representative of the Riga Dome Cathedral. Organists Ilze Reine, Kristīne Adamaite and Aigars Reinis will play a rich range of music in the concert.
The new composers whose compositions will be performed are Henrijs Poikāns, Alise Bērziņa, Dace Mangulsone, Tomijs Endzelis, Jēkabs Bernāts, Alise Racāne, Marita Semjonova, Kārlis Bukovskis, Žanete Spirka, Mihails Pranovičs, Sintija Onužāne, Dāvids Grodis and Marina Vidmonte, who are currently studying at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, as well as at the Rezekne, Ventspils, Jelgava, Riga Emīls Dārziņš, Jāzeps Mediņš and Pāvuls Jurjāns Music Secondary Schools.
