BIRMINGHAM, KOMPAS.TV – The women’s singles badminton player from Turkey, Neslihan Yigit, who was originally scheduled to play against Akane Yamaguchi, is confirmed to be WO or Walkover from All England 2021 on Thursday (18/3/2021).
Previously, Neslihan Yigit will continue to work at All England 2021. This has become a controversy.
The reason is, Yigit is still allowed to appear even though he is traveling on an airplane with the Indonesian team from Istanbul to Birmingham on Saturday (13/3/2021).
As per British Government regulations, if on the same plane there is a person who is positive for Covid-19, the other passengers are required to undergo isolation for 10 days.

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) finally took a similar stance regarding Yigit. Like the Indonesian badminton team, he also has to lift the suitcase from All England 2021.
Quoting the official BWF website, Yamaguchi has won walkover (WO) over Yigit in today’s match results. BWF and the All England have yet to provide an official statement until this news is published.
