Tesla tests an electric truck with a mileage of 1000 km without charging (Video)

Tesla has released a short video about testing an electric truck at its test site. The short video shows a prototype of an ecological truck without a trailer and a commentary on the topic of Elon Musk.

This is expected to be the final design of the company’s new product, which will not undergo changes until the start of mass production. According to Carscoops, the first electric trucks will be delivered to customers by the end of this year.

According to the majority owner and head of Tesla Elon Musk, the electric truck will be able to travel up to 1000 kilometers without recharging. According to him, such indicators can be achieved thanks to advanced batteries and state-of-the-art technology of American engineers.

At the same time, Tesla previously released other data on the maximum mileage of electric trucks of the Semi model. For example, it was announced that in the standard version Tesla Semi will be able to travel up to 500 km, and in the highest class – up to 800 km without recharging the batteries.

The power unit of the machine is expected to include four electric motors. According to preliminary data, the truck will be able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h in five seconds, and with a trailer weighing 40 tons – in 20 seconds. There is no official confirmation of this information yet.

The prototype of the Tesla Semi electric truck was presented in November 2017. After that, the start date of serial production of the novelty was postponed more than once. The heavy truck was originally planned to be on the assembly line in 2019. The reasons for the postponement of the proceedings have been announced.
