Covid Basilicata, 136 infections and 4 deaths: bulletin 17 March

There are 136 coronavirus infections registered today, March 17, in Basilicata, out of a total of 1,384 molecular swabs carried out. This was announced by the regional task force with the usual bulletin. Four dead, concerning citizens of Forenza, Montescaglioso, Potenza, Sant’Arcangelo. The Lucanians recovered or negated are 88, of which 31 in Venosa.


In today’s bulletin, the Municipalities with the most cases of new infections are Potenza (33) and Lavello (8). Updating the overall data, the currently positive Lucanians rise to 3,962 (+32), of which 3,789 in home isolation, while 13,005 people residing in Basilicata recovered from the beginning of the health emergency and 384 died. The people currently hospitalized in Lucanian hospitals are 173 (-6): at San Carlo di Potenza 33 in the infectious disease ward, 28 in pulmonology, 17 in emergency medicine, 6 in intensive care and 27 in Covid internal medicine; at the Madonna delle Grazie hospital in Matera 32 in the infectious disease ward, 22 in pulmonology and 8 in intensive care.

The number of beds occupied in intensive care fell from 16 to 14. Since the start of the health emergency, 263,963 molecular swabs have been analyzed, of which 243,732 were negative, and 160,279 people were tested.
