Pianist Agnese Egliņa, JVLMA docent, was born in Liepāja into a family of musicians. After studying at the Emilis Melngailis Liepāja Music High School and the Emīls Dārziņš Music High School, she continued her studies at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and the Zurich School of Music, graduating with distinction. Agnese Egliņa has performed as a soloist with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, collaborated with the chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Riga, Latvian Radio Choir and other groups. The pianist constantly collaborates with leading Latvian musicians and world-class soloists (among them Hens Halevi, Nikola Balderū, Thomas Indermīle, Christian Schmidt, etc.), has performed in South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, USA, Estonia, Russia, Switzerland, Gibraltar, Italy, Germany, Austria, Albania, Norway, Finland, Spain, Greece and elsewhere. Agnese Egliņa has participated in many international music festivals. Percussionist Guntars Freibergs started his musical career at Valka Music School and Emīls Dārziņš Music High School. From 2007 to 2011 he studied at the Strasbourg Conservatory of Music. The musician has participated in master classes with leading percussionists and teachers Keiko Abes (Japan), Momoko Kamia (Japan), Bogdan Bacanu (Austria), Peter Sadlo (Germany), as well as studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum Summer Academy and Villekrozes Academy in France. Guntars Freibergs has succeeded in many international competitions in Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Italy, Bulgaria and Austria, the highest of which is the 2nd place in the prestigious Salzburg Marimba competition (2012) and Grand Prize percussion competition in Fermo, Italy (2011). He has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Latvia, Russia, Germany, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.
