In an interview with Fox News, the former US president announced that he would announce his decision in November to run for a second term.
Former US President Donald Trump has said he will decide whether to run again for president after the congressional election in November, Reuters reported.
Trump has said he is committed to helping his Republican counterparts regain control of the House of Representatives and the Senate in the 2022 U.S. Congress, which will be a de facto referendum on President Joe Biden’s leadership.
“I think we have a very, very good chance of regaining control of the House,” Trump told Fox News. “You have a very good chance of getting your Senate back,” he told Republicans, adding that he would then decide whether to run in the 2024 election. Trump said his supporters already supported the idea.
The former president also recommended that everyone be vaccinated against the coronavirus. Studies show that a large number of Republicans and Trump supporters do not want to be vaccinated.
“It’s a great vaccine. It’s a safe vaccine,” Trump said. He himself was vaccinated in January, without making much noise about it. “I would recommend the vaccine, and I would recommend it to many people who do not want to be vaccinated, and to many of those who voted for me, I tell you honestly,” Trump added.
