The president of the Confederation of Employers of Galicia (CEG), Juan Vieites, met yesterday with the Minister of the Sea, Rosa Quintana, to convey the concerns of the sea-industry sector and ask her to urge the State to incorporate Galicia into the delegation responsible for the negotiation between the shares shared by the United Kingdom and Spain, while keeping the sector informed to articulate the community’s position in the negotiations.
Similarly, Vieites considered it necessary to work on a solution for the Galician fleet that operates in the Malvinas, especially affected by Brexit, through necessary agreements that eliminate tariffs.
In addition, Vieites asked that the aid from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund 2021-2027 “respond to the real needs of companies” and expressed concern about the future Law on Climate Change and Energy Transition.
