The hospital announced on Monday that it would scale down regular care to make room for the care of corona patients. A spokesman for Danderyd told Svensk Damtidning that the princess does not have to worry for the time being. “But it is not an ideal situation,” he says. The measure does not yet have any consequences for planned regular care. “It is more of an administrative measure to be able to set priorities and make decisions quickly.”
Hospital births are very common in Sweden. Because of the corona virus, not only expectant mothers are quarantined before giving birth; expectant fathers do that too. They don’t want to risk becoming infected and miss delivery. It is not known whether Prince Carl Philip will also be quarantined.
Last Thursday, Sofia and Carl Philip could still be seen in public. They replaced the Coronavirus-infected Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel at the memorial ceremony at Drottningholm Church.
