After yesterday’s advance between Pisa and Spal, won by the Nerazzurri 3-0 (knockout which cost Marino the bench of the Ferrara team, in his place Rastelli), the 29th matchday of Serie B continues today with the midweek round. Waiting for Monza and Salernitana, on the pitch at 7 pm, Lecce beat Penzo 3-2 and took – perhaps only for a couple of hours – the lonely second place behind Empoli. Great test, that of Corini’s men, who hit the third victory in a row – the fifth in the last seven – and confirm, once again, the ambitions of direct promotion. The Venezia, on the other hand, hit the second defeat in the last three and remained fifth, but at the risk of being overtaken by the Cittadella. Cosenza and Vicenza do not get hurt, with a 1-1 that is of no use to anyone: the Calabrians remain in the playout area, the Venetians do not stretch too much from the hot part of the standings. Cremonese captures an excellent victory in key safety at Entella’s home (2-0), thanks to goals from Gaetano and the masterpiece of Castagnetti, who scored from almost 70 meters. The Lombard thus repeat the success on Reggiana and rise to 35, while for the Ligurians it becomes tough: the three points are missing from January 22 and Pescara, which precedes him in the standings, can go to +5 tonight. The first chance is for Pellizzer in the 24th minute, but his header ends just wide. In the first half the Cremonese is seen above all with Gaetano, but the dangerous actions are in hiding. The result, however, changes at the beginning of the second half, in the 47th minute: Valzania goes vertically for Gaetano, who crosses with his right foot and scores 1-0, scoring the fourth goal of his championship. The 2-0 arrives in the 60th minute, and is a goal that is rarely seen on a football field: Borra, the Entella goalkeeper, goes to the postponement and Castagnetti, from 70 meters, hits it first – probably for sweeping – and mocking the number 24 of the Ligurians, who remained outside the poles. At 87 ‘Entella is seen again but Morosini, all alone, hits the post from a good position. Three minutes later Pellizzer, from two steps, takes the same wood.
