With the song “People Lie”, the local singer MØNTA becomes Mont

In October 2020, the singer’s debut mini-album “The Second She” was released, with which MONTA completed the first stage of her creative career, to start this year in a new quality and sound. If the previous recordings were made in collaboration with the experienced producer Gints Stankevičs, then this year a collaboration was started with the producer and guitarist Jānis Čubars, who is also known as the guitarist of the group “Otra valsts”.

“Significant changes have taken place not only around me, but also in me,” says Monta. “Like most people at this time, I have thought a lot and understood something about myself and the world. I could say – I have buried deeper. And here I am – Monta, without any need. That is the goal I have set for myself this year – look, sound and be who I am. ”

The new song reveals a new sound, different moods from the previous songs and a different musical structure. The message of the song itself is that people lie too much and start believing their own lies. Lies are all around. The song’s video, created by Eric Saxon, depicts “the songwriter’s different moods and feelings, all of which are realized in one person’s mind.”

Monta continues: “I wrote this song, inspired by the actor Jim Kerry.” “I think everyone should become rich and famous and do everything they have dreamed of to see that there is no answer.” It seems to me that he has understood something important. “

“Although” People lie “deals with several topics. There is no single truth in it. And yet everything is quite simple – the world is as it is and people are as they are,” says the musician.
