The director of the institution, Dr. Viviana Aredes, details that due to the pandemic the establishment became a node for patients with coronavirus. They serve with fever guard every day, 24 hours. In addition, they perform swabs to detect the virus.
“In Yerba Buena there are two centers with 24-hour care, one is Villa Carmela and the other is in San José, but we are a COVID-19 node. Our area of responsibility covers 8584 patients, but the area of influence due to its geographical location (Av. Independencia and Camino del Perú) is around 46 thousand people. We have patients who come from Lomas de Tafí, Capital, Oeste II neighborhood, Yerba Buena ”, says the authority.
The circuit for the assistance of patients with COVID-19 begins in the feverish office. There it is attended morning and afternoon with medical, nursing and administrative personnel, and all the measures according to the health emergency.
“The person is cared for, an evaluation is made and they are discriminated against by fever, if it is for suspected COVID and a swab is sent, or directly goes by guard that works from Monday to Monday, 24 hours a day. When it is not a disease related to COVID, it goes to the guard. The COVID node has a circuit that allows swabbing in the same polyclinic, rapid tests and PCR are performed. We can deliver the quick test result on the same day; when it comes to PCR, the sample is sent to the Provincial Health Laboratory ”, Aredes explains.
It should be noted that any citizen can approach this polyclinic to be assisted and diagnosed for coronavirus; they do not have to be close neighbors to the effector.
