Russia Cup: Daniil Ivanov made the victory perfect! / Ice Speedway

The Russia Cup 2021 is history and Daniil Ivanov bagged the title with the second victory in the second ice speedway race in Yugorsk. It was just as exciting for third place as for first place.

With a maximum win in the seventh race of the Russia Cup in 2021, Daniil Ivanov secured the best starting position for the final day of the race in Yugorsk. The 2020 world champion started the last race one point ahead of challenger Nikita Bogdanov and left nothing to be desired on the way to victory.

After Bogdanov and Ivanov had won their opening runs, the direct encounter brought the preliminary decision: Ivanov defeated Bogdanov and was able to extend his lead in the overall standings to two points. After Bogdanov dropped another point, Ivanov could also afford a point loss without jeopardizing the day’s victory and the overall victory. Bogdanov secured second place in the eighth race in the jump-off against Dmitry Solyannikov.

From a total of eight races, 34-year-old Ivanov scored the most points with 108 points and won the Russia Cup in 2021 with a two-point lead over Bogdanov. Third place overall went to Ivan Chichkov, who European champion Solyannikov could not overtake despite a strong race in Yugorsk.
