The District Court of the District of Columbia ordered the revocation of the entry into force of the order of the United States Department of Defense (DOD) and the imposition of the definition of Xiaomi as a “Chinese Communist Military Company” (CCMC) .
According to the judgment, the Court repealed in full and with immediate effect the restriction imposed by United States Implementing Regulation №13959 on the purchase of Xiaomi’s securities and the requirement to sell securities by persons of the United States.
Xiaomi said it is a publicly traded and independently managed company that offers consumer electronics products for civil and commercial use only.
“We believe that the decisions to designate it as a Chinese communist military company are arbitrary and unfounded, and the court agreed with this position. We plan to continue to urge the court to declare this ruling illegal and to remove this name once and for all. “
