Sophie had never thought of emigrating before her husband told her that he had landed a job in South Africa. Sophie landed in Johannesburg, billed as one of the most dangerous cities in the world, with her three daughters, including the youngest, barely a month old.
When it was time to go home, Sophie and her husband decided not to come home … and to follow the dream to the end: they left with their family for an 8-month round-the-world trip.
In this episode, recorded against the backdrop of a winter storm in Belgium, we are obviously going to talk about this crazy adventure and also about schooling: because how do we take our children out of the traditional school system? And what does school look like when you have no fixed accommodation for several months?
Well, I’ll tell you right away: it’s full of sun, good humor, and it makes you want to book a plane ticket in the second.
