Lightness as the ultimate goal
The KTM 1290 Super Duke RR is a new version of the Austrian supernaked. The new ‘Beast’ is characterized by its reduction in weight due to the use of carbon fiber, titanium and other light materials after what is seen in the last spy photos.
A few months ago, information was already leaked about a supposed KTM 1290 Super Duke RR, a special version of the well-known Austrian supernaked. It makes sense when looking at the pictures, in which the new creation of the Mattighofen factory looks for the weight reduction clearly. The massive use of lightweight materials such as carbon fiber, titanium and magnesium they will make the KTM Super Duke RR may lose about a few 9 kg not negligible when we are talking about this type of beasts remaining in a few 180 kg totals.

Engine-wise, it doesn’t look like there will be much change from the current V-twin LC8 used in the standard KTM 1290 Super Duke R. Yes we could expect electronic assists and more aggressive and extensive maps.
Now we can only hope to finally know the KTM 1290 Super Duke RR, a motorcycle that will surely come out as a limited edition (they say, only 500 units) and at a significantly higher price.
