It was magnificent, this “jet black” finish inaugurated with the iPhone 7. A shiny black, dazzling, deep, luminous… and which grabs the prints of the fingers the very second that we took it out of its box. Worse, this finish also had the particularity of collecting scratches very quickly, so much so that Apple recommended to only use the smartphone in a case (read: Jet black iPhone, a record all in stripes).
We therefore understand that this “jet black” did not spread beyond the iPhone 7. And yet, Apple obviously tried its luck with the iPhone X! As the leaky man shows Mr White, the manufacturer has developed a prototype with this finish which looks great. But in the end, Apple preferred to put it aside for more classic space gray and silver colors. It was also whispered that the Apple had wanted to launch an iPhone X with a gold dress, which eventually appeared with the iPhone XS.
