NEW YORK – Police are on the trail of a man who allegedly struck an 18-year-old girl in the forehead with a glass liquor bottle during an apparent argument in a Brooklyn subway this week.
Authorities said on Friday that the victim was on a train on the N line northbound on Wednesday, around 8:00 pm, at a station near 4 Avenue Y 36 Street in Sunset Park, when the suspect allegedly approached. The two reportedly started arguing, it is not clear why, and the attack with the bottle followed shortly after, police said.
The suspect got off the train on 36th Street and after the attack left the victim with blood on his forehead. The victim was transported to the hospital NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn and then she was discharged.
The individual is described as a male in his 20s, medium build, about 5’7 “tall, about 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with the ‘Thrasher’ logo across the front, a T-shirt white, black knitted hat, orange belt, blue jeans, black sneakers and necklace with a crucifix.
Authorities released a surveillance image of the suspect in which he appears to be drinking from a container in a black plastic bag. Anyone with information can confidentially call the Police at 1-888-57-PISTA.
