Germany announced today that the AstraZeneca vaccine against KOVID-19 is safe, and its use in the country will continue despite suspicions that it causes blood clots, Reuters reported.
Health authorities in Denmark, Norway and Iceland have stopped using this vaccine since yesterday after reports that some of those vaccinated with it have formed blood clots, BTA reports.
“Everything we know so far shows that the benefits of the vaccine, even after each case, outweigh the risks,” German Health Minister Jens Spahn told a news conference.
Lothar Wheeler, director of the Robert Koch Institute of Infectious Diseases, said there was no statistical evidence of an increase in mortality after injections of any KOVID-19 vaccine.
