Case against widow of murdered Tob Cohen continues | NOW

The lawsuit against the main suspect in the murder of Dutch businessman Tob Cohen, his wife Sarah Wairimu, is not canceled. The widow had requested that the charges against her be dropped, but the Supreme Court in the Kenyan capital Nairobi did not agree.

The court does not consider itself competent to deal with the request, reports the Kenyan broadcaster KBC.

The woman says she has been charged because politicians and others involved want to have the valuable home of Cohen, a former Philips CEO.

Cohen’s body was found in a septic tank near his home in Kenya on September 13, 2019. That was forty days after the Dutchman was reported missing.

Wairimu was released on bail after 44 days in detention. According to prosecutors, she planned and committed the murder with about 20 others. The widow says that her husband’s acquaintances committed the murder out of greed. She was married to the Dutchman for 29 years.
