This speed camera sends out laser beams horizontally at a swivel angle of 45 degrees. If these detect an approaching vehicle, they are reflected and received by the device. This determines the travel time for the entered measurement distance and these values are used to calculate the speed. If the entered limit value is exceeded, the camera is triggered.
However, the fanning out of the laser beams with increasing distance can lead to the beams being reflected by different parts of the vehicle. However, the speed camera registers this as being sent back by a single part. This falsifies the calculation of the speed to the detriment of the person concerned.
The device also has assignment problems in convoys, overtaking maneuvers, oncoming vehicles and similar traffic situations. In such cases, the measurement cannot be rated as exact.
It is not uncommon for the measuring staff to make structural or evaluation errors. In particular, the swivel angle is not infrequently set incorrectly, which also leads to a distortion of the measurement. In order to prevent this, the manufacturer demands that the officials be trained. If this is not documented in the file, the specified result cannot be used as a basis for a notice of fines.
If the calibration of the device has expired, the entire series of measurements will be canceled. These and other errors can be found by analyzing your raw measurement data and measurement protocols.
