Compete at Karaiskaki Stadium, Friday (12/3/2021) early morning WIB, Arsenal were able to take the lead in the first round through Martin Odegaard. Olympiakos was able to equalize the score in the 58th minute through Youssef El-Arabi.
Arsenal in the end were able to add two goals through Gabriel Magalhaes and Mohamed Elneny. As a result, the London Cannon finished the match with a 3-1 win.
The second match will take place at the Emirates Stadium, Friday (19/3/2021) in the morning WIB. Arsenal could continue to advance to the quarter-finals despite the bitter defeat 0-2.
“This is a big win for us, a good result with three away goals and a win in this competition is always good,” Odegaard said as quoted by the BBC.
“The mentality in this team is very good. Very happy with everything. We showed passion in the team and the way we support each other. If one player makes a mistake then we react. That’s the problem, being a team. When a player makes a mistake you have to reply as a a team, “he continued.
Odegaard joined Arsenal in the winter of 2021. He immediately felt comfortable at Arsenal.
“I wanted to shoot on goal, luckily I got a good chance and it came in. I felt like home from day one, I am happy to be here and feel great,” said the Real Madrid loanee.
